Senior Planning Engineer (Construction)
Job Summary
The Senior Planning Engineer is responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling construction projects to ensure timely completion within budget and contractual requirements. The role supports project management by providing accurate schedules, progress analysis, and risk mitigation strategies throughout the construction lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Establish project baselines in accordance with contract requirements.
- Monitor construction progress and update schedules based on site reports.
- Identify critical path activities and potential delays.
- Prepare weekly, monthly progress reports and look-ahead schedules.
- Perform schedule impact analysis, delay analysis, and support extension of time (EOT) claims.
- Coordinate with construction managers, site engineers, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Support resource loading, productivity analysis, and cash flow forecasting.
- Participate in progress meetings and provide planning input and recommendations.
- Ensure planning and reporting align with contract conditions and company procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 710 years of experience in construction planning.
- Strong experience on building, infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 (mandatory) and MS Excel.
- Familiarity with FIDIC or other standard construction contracts is preferred.
