Job Purpose :
- Follow up and implement all civil and architectural works at the site.
- Ensure that all works are executed according to the required time schedule, quality standards, approved technical specifications, and project occupational health & safety standards.
- Supervise, monitor, and assist site engineers and ensure that they perform their assigned duties properly.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Ensure the availability of approved shop drawings and materials from the site consultant before starting execution.
- Review the shop drawings and discuss execution details with the direct manager (Construction Manager) to agree on them or propose amendments for discussion with the technical office.
- Propose ideas to the Construction Manager to assist the Quality Manager in preparing a method statement for each item according to the project specifications.
- Review the required schedule with the manager and agree on a timeline for managing the execution team.
- Follow up the implementation of the agreed schedule with site engineers and subcontractors.
- Review the required resources (manpower, raw materials, equipment) with the manager and agree on a plan to provide them until completing the task.
- Agree with the responsible engineers on the method of execution and the time required to complete tasks/items.
- Follow up the implementation of works with site engineers and subcontractors to ensure they are executed as required.
- Review the quantity take-offs approved by the consultant/technical office and compare them with the executed quantities to calculate waste and submit it to the direct manager.
- Ensure that the production rates for self-executed items are proceeding as agreed with the manager.
- Monitor the recording and attendance of labor by supervisors on a weekly and random basis for approving monthly statements.
- Coordinate with the survey engineer/surveyor to ensure that all works are implemented according to the approved coordinates and levels as per the approved shop drawings.
- Coordinate all related works with other departments (Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) before starting or finishing works to ensure smooth workflow.
- Coordinate with HSE supervisors to ensure that all works comply with occupational health & safety standards.
- Ensure proper completion of works and coordinate with the quality engineer to finalize and get consultant approval for handover.
- Review daily reports on all executed works, progress rates, and production rates, and escalate issues or suggestions to the direct manager.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the direct manager within the scope of work and according to capabilities.
Job Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture
57 years of experience in civil and architectural site works (finishing & concrete).
Previous experience with large-scale construction projects is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, site management, and finishing works.
Excellent understanding of technical specifications, shop drawings, and quantity surveying.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office (Excel, Word), and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera or MS Project).
Familiarity with quality standards, method statements, and inspection procedures.
- Health & Safety Knowledge:
Solid understanding of occupational health & safety regulations in construction sites.
Strong leadership and supervision skills.
Ability to manage and coordinate teams, subcontractors, and resources effectively.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
