Sr. Project Engineer - PMC

Position Overview

The Senior Project Engineer (PMC)is responsible for supporting the Project Manager in the planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout of largescale oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial projects. The role ensures that engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities are delivered in accordance with contract requirements, corporate standards, approved schedules, budgets, and HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Project Manager in planning and execution of large oil & gas / petrochemical capital projects.
  • Act as PMC focal point coordinating EPC engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Review and approve EPC deliverables in compliance with Saudi Aramco (SAES, SAMSS, GI)and SABIC standards.
  • Monitor projectprogress, schedules, and engineering deliverables against approved baselines.
  • Manage engineering interfaces, technical queries, field changes, and MOC processes.
  • Coordinate with operations, HSE, construction, and commissioning teams for smooth project execution.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZOP/HAZID, constructability, and vendor technical evaluations.
  • Support construction, precommissioning, mechanical completion, and final handover activities.
  • Ensure HSE, quality, and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering(Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, or related discipline).
  • 15+ yearsof project experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial projects.
  • Minimum 5-7 yearsexperience in PMC / Owner's Engineer roles.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Engineering Standards (SAES/SAMSS)
    • Project Management Framework
  • Proven experience managing EPC contractors.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project reporting, schedules, and progress measurement.

Preferred Certifications

  • PMP (Project Management Professional)
  • PMISP / PMIRMP
  • Chartered Engineer (PE / CEng)
