Job Summary:
The Senior Structural Engineer- Steel will lead moderate-complexity steel-structure designs for power plants, substations, and energy Projects, mentoring junior engineers, refine design methodologies
Responsibilities:
- Lead analysis and detailed design of steel frames, trusses, and composite decks, slabs, beams, columns.
- Optimize section sizes and connection details for cost effectiveness and constructability.
- Review and stamp steel design packages in line with client specs and code requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers on code application, QA/QC procedures, and best practices.
- Provide commercial input on steel tonnage estimates, risk areas, and cost assumptions during tendering.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering
- Registered engineer with the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate or equivalent professional body
- 515 years of reinforced concrete design experience in the energy, Industrial Projects.
- Proficiency in local codes (ECP), Eurocode, AISC LRFD U.S. steel design standard
- Fundamentals of fabrication, welding standards, and erection sequencing for industrial and utility steel structures.
- Basic understanding of power-plant and substation structural layouts and loadings
