We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Office Engineer (Mechanical / Electrical) to support the technical management, design coordination, and engineering documentation of major construction projects. The ideal candidate must possess strong expertise in MEP systems design review, shop drawings preparation, technical coordination, and authority submissions, with proven experience in high-rise buildings and luxury hotel projects.
The role requires close coordination between consultants, project teams, subcontractors, and site execution teams to ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, and approved designs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical & Design Management
- Review and analyze IFC drawings, tender drawings, and technical specifications for Mechanical/Electrical systems.
- Prepare, review, and approve MEP shop drawings, coordination drawings, and detailed layouts.
- Ensure all technical submissions comply with project requirements, local authority regulations, and international standards.
- Provide engineering solutions for design discrepancies and technical conflicts.
2. Shop Drawings & Engineering Submittals
- Lead preparation and submission of:
- Shop Drawings
- Material Submittals
- Method Statements
- Technical Calculations
- As-built Drawings
- Review subcontractor submissions prior to consultant approval.
- Ensure timely submission and tracking of all technical documentation.
3. Coordination & Clash Resolution
- Coordinate between Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, and Architectural disciplines.
- Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection meetings.
- Resolve design conflicts to ensure constructability and installation efficiency.
- Support site teams with technical clarifications and RFIs.
4. Project & Site Support
- Provide technical guidance to project execution teams during installation stages.
- Review site conditions and propose practical engineering solutions.
- Monitor compliance of executed works with approved drawings and specifications.
- Assist in value engineering initiatives without compromising quality.
5. Documentation & Technical Control
- Maintain technical logs, drawing registers, and submission trackers.
- Ensure revision control and document management compliance.
- Support project close-out documentation including final as-built drawings and O&M manuals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in Technical Office or Design Coordination roles.
- Mandatory experience in 5-star hotels, high-rise buildings, or large-scale mixed-use developments.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Electrical, ELV, and building services systems.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of Revit / BIM Modeling.
- Familiarity with Navisworks or coordination platforms preferred.
- Strong knowledge of international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, SMACNA, etc.).
- Experience with authority approvals and consultant coordination.
