Job Description
Startup & Shutdown: Execute cold, warm, and hot start-up procedures, ensuring critical heating rates are maintained to prevent thermal stress on the rotor and casing.
DCS/SCADA Control: Monitor the Distributed Control System (DCS) to manage steam flow, turbine speed (RPM), and load distribution.
Parameter Regulation: Constantly adjust and maintain throttle pressure, temperature, and vacuum levels to optimize efficiency.
2. Technical Maintenance & Inspection
Vibration Analysis: Monitor bearing vibrations and oil temperatures to detect early signs of mechanical failure or misalignment.
Water Chemistry: Collaborate with lab technicians to ensure steam purity, preventing silica buildup or corrosion on the turbine blades.
Auxiliary Systems: Manage the Balance of Plant (BOP), including feedwater pumps, lubrication oil skids, and gland steam seals.
3. Safety & Compliance
Emergency Response: Lead the response to turbine trips, load rejections, or loss of vacuum to prevent catastrophic equipment damage.
Permit-to-Work (PTW): Issue and manage safety isolations (LOTO) for mechanical and electrical maintenance teams.
Reporting: Maintain accurate shift logs, documenting hourly parameters, fuel consumption, and any operational deviations
