About the Role:
ZODCON is seeking an experienced Steel Structure Manager to lead and oversee all steel structure activities, including fabrication, delivery, and erection. The successful candidate will ensure projects are executed in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, safety requirements, and schedules. This role requires effective coordination between design, fabrication, and site teams to deliver high-quality steel structures on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise steel structure works: fabrication, erection, alignment
- Review structural/shop drawings, connection details, and method statements
- Coordinate with design consultants, fabrication shops, and site teams
- Plan and control steel fabrication and erection to meet project milestones
- Ensure compliance with codes (AISC, AWS, BS, ASTM) and safety regulations
- Supervise lifting, bolting, welding, and alignment activities
- Oversee inspection, testing, and quality assurance for steel works
- Monitor progress and prepare reports
- Manage subcontractors and erection crews
- Identify and resolve risks, delays, and technical issues
- Ensure proper documentation and handover of steel structure works
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Licensed engineer (where applicable); SCE certificate; professional association membership
- Minimum 12 years experience as a Civil Project Engineer in the construction industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Autodesk software (Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks).
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
