Role Description

The Store Keeper is responsible for managing and organizing the inventory of maintenance and repair materials, tools, and equipment within plants.

This position will also be responsible for the receiving, storing and issuing of materials and supplies within plants. The Store Keeper will work closely with the CMMS Supervisor to ensure that the necessary resources are available for maintenance activities and that inventory levels are properly maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of maintenance and repair materials, tools, and equipment; receive incoming items, perform quality checks, label, and store items appropriately, and update inventory records in the CMMS.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies and ensure stock levels are sufficient.
  • Work closely with the CMMSSupervisor to determine material and equipment requirements based on maintenance schedules, work orders, and project plans.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions, obtain quotes from suppliers, and coordinate the procurement process; may also negotiate with vendors, track orders, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Monitor stock levels and control the issuance of materials and equipment to maintenance technicians or other departments; ensure that materials are distributed efficiently, maintain records of issued items, and track usage to identify trends or potential shortages.

Documentation

  • Generate reports on stock levels, consumption, and procurement needs.

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with storage and safety regulations

Stakeholder Management

  • Liaise with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials.
  • Collaborate with other departments for efficient material flow.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant quality, health, safety, security and environmental procedures and controls across the Department to guarantee employee safety and delivery of high-quality products/services.

  • Qualifications

    Professional Qualifications: Diploma or certification in inventory management, supply chain management or any relevant field.
