Role Overview:
The Storekeeper is responsible for managing spare parts and inventory operations within a multi-brand automotive workshop, ensuring accurate stock control, timely availability of materials, and proper documentation within the ERP system. The role supports workshop operations by handling a wide range of spare parts across different vehicle brands, maintaining optimal stock levels, coordinating with Purchasing and suppliers, and ensuring compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and housekeeping requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain stock levels, item coding, and inventory records in JD Edwards / ERP.
- Handle and control spare parts for multiple vehicle brands, ensuring correct identification and issuance.
- Verify goods receipts against purchase orders and supplier invoices.
- Issue spare parts and materials to workshop teams as per approved requests.
- Coordinate with the Purchasing team on returns, warranty claims, and supplier evaluations.
- Conduct periodic physical stock counts and accurately report discrepancies.
- Monitor slow-moving and non-moving items and prepare quarterly inventory reports.
- Maintain approved safety stock levels and raise purchase requisitions when required.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and housekeeping standards within the store.
- Supervise junior store staff and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Atleast 35 years of experience in storekeeping or inventory management within an automotive workshop environment, with hands-on exposure to multi-brand spare parts.
- Working knowledge of JD Edwards or similar ERP systems, with proficiency in MS Office.
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong coordination, documentation, and communication skills, with high attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety standards.
