The Strategic Communications Specialist role is responsible for driving the development and execution of a media relations plan and policy to support the objectives of communications strategy and business plans. This position implements a consistent series of proactive media communications to effectively communicate key messages to targeted external stakeholders, including local, regional, and international media, partners, and joint venture audiences.
Responsibilities
- Support in developing or reviewing the Executive Communications strategy and policy manuals.
- Develop and execute a yearly media plan to support the objectives of Communications strategy and broader business objectives, with a focus on building strong relationships with targeted press.
- Develop and execute a positioning strategy for the senior management.
- Draft and translate media collaterals as required, includes but not limited to press releases, talking points, speech, announcements.
- Drive media relations initiatives and ensure all press release monitoring, coverage, and sentiment reports are compiled and reported.
- Identify and prioritize key external stakeholder audiences and develop tailored press targets and communications messages to deliver to those audiences. Ensure the Media Office keeps an updated media contact database.
- Serve as the lead for all media relations efforts, working with appropriate agencies to ensure message consistency while targeting information to specific international, regional, and local media audiences.
- Capture information to be communicated, and support consistent messaging in partner initiatives and activities.
- Drive the development and consistent update of press materials and external communications products including media releases, FAQs, boilerplates, and other media kit literature.
- Coordinate with Department Heads to identify media relations needs.
- Lead media training, press events, and interviews and media preparation for speakers for all Tawazun media engagements.
