Job Description

Due to the continuing success and growth of our AESG team, a fantastic opportunity has opened up at our award-winning Specialist Consultancy, Engineering and Advisory Firm.

We are headquartered in London, Riyadh, Singapore and Dubai, Cape Town, Cairo & Sydney working throughout the Middle East, Europe and Asia. Our areas of expertise are represented in four core verticals: Building Engineering, Planning and Infrastructure, Strategy and Advisory and Commissioning, Handover and Asset Management.

Job Purpose

  • Deliver strategy and advisory consultancy services to AESG's Clients to exemplar levels of quality with focus on ESG and decarbonisation requirements.
  • Enhance quality and efficiency of work and contribute to business/team development.

Qualification / Experience

  • Degree in a relevant subject (Environmental Science, Climate Science, Sustainable Development, Engineering, etc.).
  • Familiarity or interest with Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) and/or Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience preferably in real estate, infrastructure, manufacturing, oil & gas.
  • Technical expertise in climate risk analysis and scenario modelling, GHG accounting and reporting (Scopes 13) aligned with GHG Protocol and IFRS S1/S2), ESG reporting frameworks and sustainability disclosures (GRI, IFRS S1/S2), and energy studies and renewables advisory.

GENERAL EXPECTANCY

  • Experience and high-level competencies in specialised area.
  • Contribute valuable insights to projects.

Responsibilities

Climate Risk Assessment

  • Assess physical and transition climate risks across client portfolios, identifying potential operational and financial impacts.
  • Collect, validate, and analyze climate, environmental, and operational data to support robust risk modelling.
  • Lead scenario analysis and quantify potential financial and strategic impacts of climate-related risks.

IFRS S1 & S2 Sustainability Disclosures

  • Prepare IFRS S1 & S2-aligned disclosures, including governance, strategy, risk management, and metrics & targets sections.
  • Ensure integration of climate-related data with financial reporting, supporting compliance and transparency.
  • Identify gaps, develop templates, and provide technical guidance to clients on IFRS-aligned reporting processes.

Decarbonization & GHG Advisory

  • Develop and implement GHG accounting and reporting (Scopes 13) in accordance with GHG Protocol and local regulations.
  • Design decarbonization roadmaps, emission reduction initiatives, and target-setting processes.
  • Conduct energy studies and provide renewables-related advisory to support client decarbonization strategies and sustainability initiatives.
  • Contribute to client workshops and presentations on decarbonization pathways, carbon management, and Net Zero strategies.

Client Deliverables & Reporting

  • Prepare clear, concise, and client-ready presentations, reports, dashboards, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet high-quality standards and align with recognized sustainability frameworks and client expectations.

Team Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

  • Work closely with senior and principal consultants to deliver integrated advisory projects.
  • Contribute to internal tools, templates, and knowledge repositories for climate risk, IFRS S1 & S2, and decarbonization advisory.
  • Stay updated on emerging regulations, frameworks, and best practices to support team expertise.

Business Development Support

  • Assist in proposal development, technical content creation, and preparation of case studies relevant to climate risk, decarbonization, and sustainability reporting.
  • Support client engagement activities and workshops to strengthen AESG's service positioning in the market.

  • Time Management / Planning - Monitor progress and time taken to complete tasks to ensure tasks completion stays on track. Balance the time spent on activities, understanding and prioritising the urgency of tasks.
  • Industry Experience / Thought Leadership - Demonstrated industry experience on a wide range of related project types, proven ability to efficiently manage project deadlines.
  • Project Management / Operational Delivery - Ability to independently manage the delivery of smaller projects ($50k) in a client facing role. Strong knowledge of technical discipline with experience in executing previous projects to a high level of independence.
  • Leadership / Team Management Experience - Commence taking on elements of team management in sub projects. Demonstrable experience in managing a small team of 2 or more, on live projects, or mentoring junior team members / graduates.
  • Commercial Acumen / Business Development - Manage commercials on project delivery with support from more senior team members. Assist in creation and delivery of proposals.
  • Problem Solving / Decision Making - Coordinating tasks and solving specific problems within the areas of responsibility.
  • Employee Focus / Process Compliance - Actively coordinate efforts to enhance employee experience, such as planning and executing recognition programs, conducting surveys, and organising employee well-being initiatives. Identifies external regulations that can impact the organisation.
