Position Title: Structural Engineer
Duration: 5 Months
Location : Dubai Exhibition Centre, Dubai Expo
Job Purpose :
You will be responsible for reviewing exhibition stand designs from a structural principle standpoint, ensuring the compliance with health & safety guidelines, international reference standards, and the international code of practice for steel design and construction. You will also be actively involved in onsite inspections to verify the safety and quality of the structures.
Report operational activities for stand built with the Manager Senior Structural Engineer + Health and Safety Team. Ensuring safe work practices are carried out in building the stands.
Job Responsibilities :
- Review exhibition stand designs for structural integrity and compliance with safety standards. Ensure compliance with health & safety guidelines and other relevant international standards
- Conduct onsite inspections to verify that exhibition stands are constructed in accordance with approved designs and standards. Maintain accurate documentation of inspection reports, findings, and recommendations
- Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders, including designers, contractors, and event organizers
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders as needed
- Follow up on stand completion status and ensure that the halls are ready for the opening
- Carry out pre-opening checks
- To check the technical drawings and calculations of the stand
- Ensure all Engineering procedures are implemented within the area of his/her responsibility
- Implement any other duties as assigned by the Director - Venues Infrastructure
Operating Environment :
- Due to the nature of the work, timings may be affected by the ongoing events, the job requires a lot of onsite presence throughout the venue and unsociable working hours (mostly evenings, weekends and public holidays) as per each event&aposs operational requirements
- Events are taking place mostly indoors however some elements may take place outdoor and some events may take place in offsite venues managed by DEC. Meetings may also take place at clients&apos premises
Requirements
Qualification :
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Equivalent certification courses
- Minimum 4 years in the capacity of Junior Structural Engineer
Additional Qualification:
- Computer Literate
- Events and Exhibition experience
- Safety Certificate
- Knowledge of EBMS
- Report Writing
- IOSH certified
