Job Description
We are seeking a practical and detail-oriented Structural Engineering Lead / Building Inspection Manager to support structural engineering activities, building inspections, technical coordination, and project execution.
The role involves reviewing structural information, coordinating with project teams and consultants, conducting or supporting site inspections, identifying building and structural issues, and preparing technical documentation and reports.
Candidates with experience in structural engineering, civil engineering, building inspection, construction, site supervision, or technical coordination are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and support structural engineering and building inspection activities.
- Review structural drawings, specifications, reports, and relevant project documents.
- Conduct or assist with building, structural, and site inspections.
- Identify and document visible defects, structural concerns, construction issues, and outstanding works.
- Prepare basic inspection reports, technical summaries, photographs, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with structural engineers, architects, contractors, consultants, and project teams.
- Monitor structural and construction-related works against approved drawings and project requirements.
- Assist with reviewing structural details, construction methods, and technical submissions.
- Follow up on inspection findings, corrective actions, and outstanding technical matters.
- Assist with condition assessments, defect investigations, and building-related technical reviews.
- Maintain inspection records, drawing registers, reports, photographs, and project documentation.
- Attend site and technical meetings and follow up on structural and inspection-related action items.
- Assist in resolving day-to-day structural, building, and construction coordination issues.
- Support project teams with technical information and general engineering coordination.
- Perform other structural engineering, inspection, and project support duties as required.
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in structural engineering, civil engineering, building inspection, construction, site supervision, or technical coordination is preferred.
- Basic to good understanding of structural systems, building construction, site conditions, and common building defects.
- Ability to read and understand structural and architectural drawings.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, structural analysis software, BIM, or inspection/reporting tools is an advantage, but not required.
- Professional engineering registration or relevant inspection certification is an advantage, but not mandatory.
- Good communication, observation, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to coordinate with engineers, consultants, contractors, site teams, and other stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented and able to prepare clear inspection records and reports.
- Willing to conduct site visits and work closely with both technical and site teams.
