Job Description

Job Purpose:

Responsible for inspecting, monitoring, and ensuring that structural works are executed in accordance with approved designs, specifications, codes, and quality standards. The role involves close collaboration with contractors, engineers, and project management teams to ensure compliance, safety, and high-quality construction throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Inspect structural works on-site, including foundations, superstructures, steel/concrete frameworks, and related components.
  • Verify compliance with approved structural drawings, specifications, international standards, and local codes.
  • Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and material approvals for accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify, document, and report non-conformances or defects, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Coordinate with structural engineers, architects, and contractors to resolve design or construction issues promptly.
  • Participate in site inspections, walkthroughs, and project meetings, providing technical guidance and advice.
  • Monitor progress against construction schedules and report risks, delays, or quality issues to the Project Management team.
  • Maintain detailed inspection records, reports, and approvals for project documentation and audits.
  • Mentor and guide junior inspectors, ensuring proper knowledge sharing and adherence to quality processes.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in structural inspection, quality assurance, or construction supervision on large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in mega airport projects, aviation facilities, or terminal buildings is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of structural systems, steel and concrete construction techniques, and international building codes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit Structure, BIM, and inspection/reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
