JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE

To work closely together with the Production Manager and Construction Manager and the project team to ensure that all assigned projects are executed safely, on time, and within budget in accordance with the contract and International Maritime Industries Management System (IMIMS).

Key Accountabilities

  • Facilitate weekly schedule coordination meetings with all subcontractor foremen to outline requirements of work completion, and other issues as may be required including but not limited to manpower requirements, interference coordination, inspections, and sequence of work. Distribute three-week look ahead schedules and communicate schedule requirements with all subcontractors.
  • Organize the workshop for efficient production flow of materials, sub structures, Tee beams, small panels etc. to feed block construction of the rig and create the project schedules with the Construction Manager.
  • Manage the structural construction team to ensure there is a consistent focus on a high level of detailed scope understanding and early issue identification, tracking and mitigation.
  • Contribute strongly to preparing the execution strategy, work pack for NBR awarded projects, and day-to-day running of the project is functioning in accordance with the project schedule and budget.
  • Maintain a high-level control around the cost of all construction consumables and equipment utilized during the construction works and possess strong initiative around decision making and ability to conceptualize plans and technical solutions to deal with a wide array of standard and innovative construction issues.
  • Implement, monitor, and drive the project schedule. Promptly notify the management team of schedule and performance issues, to be proactive in anticipating potential problems that may impact the project performance.
  • Work closely with the Construction Manager to design and prepare the required procedures and standard process related to rig building activities.
  • Liaise with and provide support to the project subcontractors to ensure that all contract obligations are met and possess strong knowledge and understanding of shipyard HSEQ regulations and rig building job certification requirements and ensure the same is communicated to the project team on a regular basis.
  • Identify the work priorities, focus on the critical path, analyze the work problems in writing with own problemsolving mentality, accurate supervision, decision-maker with a strong convincing personality, full readiness with Plan B for any unexpected issues.
  • Oversee delivery of all Inspection Test Records (ITR's) under the relevant discipline by effectively delegating to the foreman and chargehands. This must be approached with a high focus on interfacing and coordination with all other discipline supervision to remove all blocks from achieving target dates.

Requirements


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education

  • Diploma in Engineering (Technical Qualification) or equivalent
  • Bachelor Engineering Degree (preferred) or equivalent

Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations)


  • Technical Certification in the field of Engineering

Experience


  • For diploma minimum 15 years of experience, for bachelor holders at least 9 years of experience in shipyard and preferably involved in offshore activities and/or rig building.
  • Experienced in handling rig building and similar offshore related projects which are of high value and with technical complexities.
