Senior Pharmacist Cosmetic Pharmacy

Department:

Pharmacy / Cosmetic & Skincare Division

Job Purpose:

To supervise cosmetic pharmacy services and ensure the delivery of accurate, safe, and professional consultations regarding cosmetic, dermatological, and hair-care products. The role includes ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, supporting team development, and enhancing service quality in advanced skincare and cosmetic care.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical & Cosmetic Responsibilities

• Assess customer needs and provide professional recommendations for cosmetic, skincare, hair-care, and dermatological products.
• Review product ingredients to ensure suitability for various skin conditions (acne, hyperpigmentation, sensitivity, dryness, etc.).

Supervising high-potency and active cosmetic products, including retinoids, chemical exfoliants (AHA/BHA), active serums (Vitamin C, Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid), and sunscreens.

• Ensure all products comply with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA/SFDA or local authorities).
• Overseeing the preparation of cosmetic formulations in accordance with applicable regulations and organizational policies.
• Report adverse events or product-related complaints.

2. Supervisory & Development Duties:

• Supervise cosmetic pharmacists and skincare technicians within the pharmacy.
• Train new staff on products, skincare protocols, and safety practices.
• Monitor staff performance and ensure professional and ethical customer service.
• Maintain relationships with cosmetic companies and suppliers to stay updated on market trends and new products.

3. Quality & Compliance:

• Ensure proper storage, display, and temperature control of cosmetic products.
• Verify that products are free from prohibited or non-compliant substances.
• Conduct regular inventory checks and manage expiry monitoring.
• Implement quality and safety standards according to the organization's policies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.
• 35 years of experience in cosmetic pharmacy, skincare, or dermatology-related products.
• 13 years of supervisory experience in a cosmetology-related pharmacy environment.
• Valid pharmacist's Saudi license.
• Strong knowledge of skincare formulations, active ingredients, and product interactions.
