JOB DESCRIPTION
Objective:
This position is responsible for supervising daily transport operations within the distribution center, ensuring efficient, safe, and cost-effective delivery of goods to meet service-level targets.
Key Responsibility:
- Supervise inbound/outbound transportation activities, coordinate routing, scheduling, and delivery execution.
- Manage drivers, monitor vehicle assignments, ensure compliance with traffic and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with warehouse, DC, and logistics teams to synchronize transport with inventory demands.
- Track KPIs such as on-time delivery, transit times, and fuel usage escalate and resolve operational issues.
- Implement route optimization measures and monitor cost-saving initiatives.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections and assist in fleet maintenance planning.
- Support vendor and carrier coordination for pickups, drop-offs, and service-level agreements.
- Prepare transportation activity reports and present findings to Manager - Transport for process enhancements.
Desired Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in logistics, transport coordination, or fleet operations.
- Strong knowledge of route planning, carrier management, and transportation regulations.
- Proficiency in transport management systems (TMS) and data analysis tools.
- Effective negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Valid driving license and familiarity with regional transport regulations preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
