Job Description

Job Purpose

The Supply Planning Manager is responsible for developing and executing effective supply plans to meet customer demand while optimizing inventory levels, production capacity, and service levels. The role ensures close coordination with factory operations to support uninterrupted production and on-time customer delivery.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

1. Supply & Production Planning

  • Develop and maintain short-, medium-, and long-term supply plans aligned with demand forecasts and factory capacity.
  • Translate demand plans into detailed, feasible production plans and schedules.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of factory resources while meeting service level targets.

2. Inventory Management (Factory-Focused)

  • Manage raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory at factory level.
  • Control inventory coverage, slow-moving, and obsolete stock.
  • Coordinate with warehouses and distribution centers to ensure smooth material flow.

3. Factory Coordination & Execution

  • Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams at the factory.
  • Monitor daily/weekly production execution versus plan and resolve deviations.
  • Support line balancing, changeover planning, and production sequence optimization.

4. S&OP / IBP Participation

  • Provide supply feasibility, capacity, and constraint inputs during S&OP cycles.
  • Highlight risks and opportunities related to factory capacity, materials, and labor.
  • Ensure approved S&OP plans are effectively translated into executable factory plans.

5. Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

  • Track KPIs such as production adherence, service level, inventory turns, and capacity utilization.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy and factory responsiveness.
  • Support ERP and planning system optimization within the factory environment.

6. Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop supply planning and production planning team members at the factory.
  • Set clear objectives, priorities, and performance expectations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business Administration.
  • 710 years of experience in supply planning or production planning within a factory or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and capacity planning.
  • ERP experience (SAP preferred).
  • APICS CPIM/CSCP certification is an advantage.
