Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.

36 years of relevant professional experience.

Job Purpose

As a software tester (QC), you are involved in the quality management stage of software development life cycle to assess the quality of the software. You'll conduct automated and manual tests to ensure the software implemented by developers is fit for purpose. Software testing involves the analysis of software requirements, and systems, to avert risk and prevent software issues.

Ultimately software testers are employed to find bugs and issues within a product before it gets deployed to everyday users.

Key Accountabilities

  • Review and contribute to test plans
  • Analyze, review and assess user requirements, specifications and models for testability
  • Review product documentations like user manuals, installation guide and product specification document.
  • Plan the test schedule in accordance with product scope and/or delivery dates.
  • Set up the test environment (often coordinating with system administration and network management)
  • Prepare and acquire test data.
  • Design test cases and document its test procedures
  • Implement tests on test levels like system testing, system integration testing.
  • Execute and log the tests, evaluate the results, and document the deviations from expected results and report the defects to Software developers.
  • Use test administration or management tools and test monitoring tools as required
  • Automate tests (for system testing on the business use cases relevant scenarios)
  • Measure performance of components and systems.
  • Review tests developed by others
