Role Overview:
This full-time role provides dedicated claims leadership for Sukoon's SIAB, replacing prior part-time oversight. The position acts as a strategic linker between Sukoon's internal claims team (who handle syndicate claims directly) and the underwriting and business leadership, ensuring alignment of claims activity with business priorities. The role is market-facing, supports broker and reinsurer engagement across the DIFC and Lloyd's platforms, and is pivotal to delivering claims governance, large loss oversight and portfolio reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight:
- Monitor internal handling performance, referral protocols, SLAs, and TPA performance (if applicable), ensuring syndicate claims are managed in line with Lloyd's standards and best practice.
Internal Coordination:
- Serve as the key liaison between Sukoon's syndicate claims handlers and underwriting/business leadership to ensure transparency, escalation of key matters, and alignment on reserving, trends, and strategy.
Market Engagement:
- Represent the syndicate in market-facing claims discussions with brokers, reinsurers, and stakeholders across DIFC and Lloyd's markets, including complex and high-value matters.
Large Loss Management:
- Oversee reporting and coordination of large losses and CAT claims with Sukoon Head of Commercial Claims, ensuring consistent updates to the Active Underwriter, ASTA, and Lloyd's where appropriate.
Claims Portfolio Reporting:
- Produce and deliver monthly MI, loss triangulations, trend analysis, and performance commentary for internal and external stakeholders, including ASTA and the Lloyd's market.
Governance & Compliance:
- Work closely with ASTA (Managing Agent) on all claims governance, compliance, training, and audit-related obligations.
- Support annual attestations, DOA adherence, Lloyd's Principles compliance, and ensure readiness for internal and external audit reviews.
