Role Overview
- The Syndication Manager is responsible for building and managing relationships with leading regional and international banks to identify, structure, and participate in syndicated and commercial lending opportunities within the institutional and corporate client segment. The role focuses on originating involvement in high-quality syndicated transactions, ensuring alignment with the bank's credit appetite, and managing execution in coordination with internal stakeholders.
- As the front-line representative of the bank in the syndicated lending market, the Syndication Manager maintains visibility with arrangers, monitors deal pipelines, and ensures the bank's participation delivers sound risk-adjusted returns. Success in this role requires strong market connectivity, credit awareness, and the ability to translate relationship insights into actionable participation opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with lead arrangers and major lending institutions
- Identify, evaluate, and structure opportunities in syndicated loans aligned with the bank's strategy
- Source and originate large-value commercial lending deals
- Represent the bank in deal discussions, mandate allocations, and documentation negotiations
- Review and approve credit approval memos for syndicate proposals
- Liaise with the credit and operations teams to ensure smooth approval and settlement
- Track active syndicated portfolios and monitor covenant compliance and repayment performance
- Mentor and guide the Syndication Associate on deal execution and documentation standards
Qualifications & Experience
- 710 years of experience in syndicated / commercial lending
- Established network with regional and international banks and arrangers
- Deep understanding of syndicated loan markets, credit assessment, and documentation
- Strong relationship management, negotiation, and communication skills
- Degree in Finance, Business, or Economics; CFA or equivalent certification preferred
- Regional market familiarity (UAE / GCC) is a strong advantage
- Regional exposure; fluency in English (Arabic an advantage)
