Job Summary:
The System Specialist will manage, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise IT systems with a focus on Microsoft 365, hybrid/on-premises Active Directory, Windows Server, AWS cloud services, and PowerShell scripting. This role involves proactive infrastructure support, security compliance, automation, and cross-team collaboration to ensure high availability and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and optimize Microsoft 365 environments, including tenant management, security policies, Exchange Online, Teams, and endpoint configurations.
- Design, implement, and maintain hybrid Active Directory setups, integrating on-premises AD with Azure AD Connect for seamless synchronization.
- Manage Windows Server deployments (2019/2022), including patching, high availability clustering, Group Policy management, and RDP/SSH access controls.
- Oversee AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, Route 53, Transfer Family), perform cost optimization, scaling, and integration with hybrid environments.
- Develop and automate administrative tasks using advanced PowerShell scripting, including reporting, compliance checks, and deployment pipelines.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across hybrid setups, conduct security audits, and enforce compliance with standards like GDPR and ISO 27001.
- Collaborate with teams on migrations, upgrades (e.g., VMware ESXi integrations), and documentation for IT projects.
- Monitor system performance using tools like Microsoft Sentinel, AWS CloudWatch, and generate automated reports.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a System Administrator in enterprise environments.
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft 365 administration, hybrid/on-premises AD (Azure AD Connect), and Windows Server management.
- Strong AWS experience with EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, and cost management tools.
- Advanced PowerShell scripting skills for automation, with Bash familiarity as a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with VMware ESXi, Microsoft Sentinel, and hybrid cloud migrations.
- Knowledge of ITIL practices, ticketing systems (Freshservice, Jira), and network troubleshooting.
- Azure cloud, AD, security, SSO integration, PowerShell scripts, Microsoft integrations, power apps, MS forms, MS power apps, MS power automate, AWS services.
- Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300), AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert.
