Job Description

Role Description The Talent Acquisition Manager is a part-time remote role responsible for leading end-to-end recruitment for Urban Lab's growing research and support teams. Day-to-day tasks include identifying hiring needs with team leads, drafting inclusive job descriptions, sourcing candidates through multiple channels, and managing screening, interviewing, and selection processes. The role involves maintaining consistent communication with candidates, coordinating interview schedules, and ensuring a positive, professional candidate experience. The Talent Acquisition Manager will also help refine recruitment strategies, support employer branding initiatives, and ensure hiring practices align with KAUST's policies and Urban Lab's values. Collaboration with HR, project managers, and leadership is essential to anticipate future workforce needs and support timely hiring for ongoing and upcoming projects.

Qualifications

  • Strong Human Resources (HR) and HR Management skills to oversee recruitment processes and collaborate with internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in Employee Relations and Performance Management to support a healthy, high-performing work environment.
  • Practical knowledge of HR Policies to ensure compliant, fair, and transparent hiring practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in talent acquisition, including sourcing, interviewing, and candidate assessment in academic or research settings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse, international teams.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple roles and deadlines in a remote, part-time capacity.
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and common recruitment platforms; familiarity with data-driven recruitment metrics is an advantage.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field; advanced HR certifications are a plus.
  • Interest in urban sustainability, resilience, or related fields is beneficial and supports alignment with Urban Lab's mission.
