Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Specialist to manage all tax-related matters across the Group, including holding company, subsidiaries, SPVs, associates, and related entities.

This role will be primarily responsible for Corporate Tax, VAT, and Transfer Pricing, ensuring full compliance with UAE tax laws and regulations. The position also plays a key role in supporting broader finance operations, including financial reporting, analysis, controls, and banking coordination.

The Tax Specialist will contribute to strengthening tax governance, improving financial processes, and supporting senior management through clear, structured insights and recommendations on tax and financial matters.

Responsibilities

Corporate Tax

  • Implement and maintain controls and procedures to ensure compliance with Corporate Tax laws and regulations across the Group.
  • Assess applicability of exemptions, reliefs, and incentives relevant to the Group.
  • Manage tax registrations, deregistrations, and updates with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA).
  • Prepare and file Corporate Tax computations, returns, and disclosures in line with statutory deadlines.
  • Manage tax payments, refunds, and reconciliations.
  • Review contracts, transactions, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and other strategic transactions from a tax perspective.
  • Evaluate tax implications of financing structures and related-party transactions.
  • Monitor changes in UAE tax laws and ensure timely implementation.
  • Prepare records and schedules to support tax audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Liaise with the FTA on audits, assessments, and disputes.
  • Coordinate with external advisors and consultants.
  • Ensure alignment between tax, legal, finance, and other relevant teams.

VAT

  • Implement and maintain VAT-related controls and procedures across the Group.
  • Manage VAT registrations, deregistrations, and updates with the FTA.
  • Prepare and file VAT returns and disclosures in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Assess tax implications of transactions, including related-party arrangements.
  • Review contracts and documentation to ensure VAT compliance.
  • Manage VAT payments, refunds, and reconciliations.
  • Support VAT audits, assessments, and regulatory queries.
  • Lead the implementation of e-invoicing initiatives and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Ensure consistency and alignment across tax, finance, and operational teams.

Transfer Pricing

  • Design and implement Transfer Pricing policies in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain Master File, Local File, and supporting documentation.
  • Support benchmarking studies for intercompany transactions, financing, and cost allocations.
  • Coordinate with external advisors and ensure alignment across internal stakeholders.

Finance and Operations

  • Review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and strong internal controls.
  • Review vendor payments, customer collections, aging reports, VAT reports, and general ledgers.
  • Ensure correct application of VAT and tax treatments in financial transactions.
  • Manage relationships with banks, lenders, and financial institutions.
  • Support financing arrangements, loan documentation, and covenant compliance.
  • Monitor Group cash flows and manage placement of surplus funds.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations.
  • Support preparation of management reports (MIS), including financial performance, cash flow, and tax analysis.
  • Provide insights on financial and tax implications of business decisions.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and project-level financial planning.
  • Incorporate tax considerations into financial models and feasibility analyses.
  • Develop and enhance tax and finance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Support tax audits, statutory audits, and regulatory filings.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE laws and relevant regulatory requirements.

Experience, Education, and Skills

Experience

  • 5–8 years of experience in tax, audit, and financial analysis.
  • Experience within the real estate development and management sector is preferred.
  • Previous experience with tax or audit firms is an advantage.

Education

  • Professional qualification such as CA or ACCA is required.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Corporate Tax, VAT, Transfer Pricing, and UAE tax regulations.
  • Good understanding of IFRS and sector-specific accounting practices.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or Oracle.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
  • Strong data analytics and financial modelling capabilities.
  • Strong organisational and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of integrity, reliability, and professional judgement.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
