We opened our office in Qatar in 2016 under the name Havelock Contracting and have been offering dedicated boutique fit out and D&B (design and build) services ever since. Our local branch is mostly supporting luxury and high-end retail and F&B clients in mall environments or at the airport.
As a result of the recent news and renewed activity in the market, we are seeking to hire a well-qualified and experienced Technical Architectural Engineer in Doha to help with taking our business forward. Role Summary
The Technical Architectural Engineer is responsible for leading the technical delivery and coordination of interior fit-out projects from concept to completion. This role encompasses technical design development, supervision, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), and coordination with all project stakeholders. The engineer ensures that all design, materials, and execution meet client expectations, statutory requirements, and industry standards.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure design intent is maintained and technical requirements are met
- Develop and review architectural and shop drawings, ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, and client standards
- Supervise on-site installation activities to ensure alignment with approved drawings and technical quality standards
- Perform QA/QC inspections and issue reports to ensure construction works meet project specifications
- Lead coordination with internal departments (design, procurement, site, and factory) to streamline information flow and minimize conflicts
- Provide technical solutions and respond to RFIs from site teams and subcontractors
- Manage technical submittals, including materials, method statements, and as-built documentation
- Organize and conduct value engineering reviews to optimize design and material selection
- Facilitate technical meetings and workshops with consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Ensure timely preparation, issuance, and approval of technical documentation
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of drawing approvals, revisions, and compliance records
- Mentor and guide junior team members, assisting with their technical development
Skills And Qualifications
- Bachelor&apos&apos&apos&aposs Degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering
- 1014 years of experience in technical architecture and fit-out, with a strong portfolio of hospitality, luxury residential, and F&B projects
- Strong knowledge of architectural detailing, joinery, materials, and construction methodologies
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; Revit/BIM experience is an advantage
- Excellent understanding of codes, standards, and regulations related to interior fit-out projects
- Hands-on experience with shop drawings, setting out, site supervision, and factory coordination
- Proven track record in technical problem-solving and site-based issue resolution
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced technical drawing and detailing skills
- Strong knowledge of materials, specifications, and construction systems
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to lead coordination meetings and drive technical decisions
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
- Proactive approach and ability to work under pressure in fast-track environments
