BEC Arabia is hiring (Technical - BIM Electrical Engineer)
A Technical BIM Electrical Engineer creates, manages, and coordinates 3D models for electrical systems (power, lighting, low current) using Revit and Navisworks. They produce shop drawings, conduct clash detection to resolve conflicts with other trades, and ensure compliance with project specifications, playing a crucial role in enhancing design efficiency and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Modeling & Drafting: Develop, manage, and update detailed 3D Revit models for electrical systems (power, lighting, ELV).
- Coordination & Clash Detection: Perform clash detection and interdisciplinary coordination (mechanical, structural, architectural) using Navisworks to identify and resolve conflicts.
- Technical Documentation: Generate, review, and submit accurate electrical shop drawings, as-built drawings, and schematics.
- Design & Analysis: Review project specifications, BOQ, and design documents, performing necessary calculations (e.g., voltage drop, cable sizing, lux calculations).
- Model Development: Upgrade models from schematic to construction level (LOD 200400) and prepare as-built (LOD 500) models.
Required Technical Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Software Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of Autodesk Revit (Electrical), Navisworks Manage, and AutoCAD.
- Experience: 35+ years of experience in electrical design, construction modeling, or technical office work.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of MEP systems, electrical codes, and BIM workflows.
- Communication: Ability to collaborate with site teams and consultants to address technical queries (RFIs).
