Job Summary:
The Technical Manager BIM is responsible for leading the technical development, implementation, and governance of Building Information Modeling (BIM) across projects. The role focuses on ensuring BIM standards, model quality, and technical coordination between disciplines while supporting project teams with advanced BIM methodologies and digital construction practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical oversight of BIM implementation across multiple projects.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce BIM standards, protocols, and workflows in line with company and project requirements.
- Review and approve BIM Execution Plans (BEP), model structures, and BIM deliverables.
- Manage technical model coordination, including clash detection and model validation using BIM coordination tools.
- Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to BIM coordinators, modelers, and project teams.
- Ensure BIM models comply with project specifications, LOD requirements, and industry standards.
- Coordinate with design consultants, engineering teams, and construction teams to ensure accurate model integration.
- Oversee the use of Common Data Environments (CDE) to maintain proper data management and collaboration.
- Evaluate and implement new BIM technologies, automation tools, and digital workflows to improve project efficiency.
- Support project teams with model-based planning, constructability reviews, and digital coordination meetings.
- Conduct technical BIM audits and model quality checks across projects.
- Mentor and develop the BIM team, ensuring continuous improvement in BIM capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
- +15 years of experience in engineering, design, or construction, with strong BIM technical expertise.
- Minimum 5 years in a BIM technical leadership or management role.
- Strong experience in multi-disciplinary model coordination on large construction projects.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks Manage, AutoCAD, and BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
- Strong understanding of BIM standards, LOD requirements, model federation, and clash detection processes.
- Experience with BIM Execution Planning, model validation, and data management workflows.
- Familiarity with ISO 19650 BIM standards and digital project delivery methods.
