Job Definition/Summary:
The Technical Consultant is responsible for providing technical expertise and delivering solutions tailored to client needs. They implement, and maintain complex IT software, ensuring the smooth functioning of infrastructure. The role involves working closely with clients, leading technical projects, and providing ongoing support.
Main Roles and Responsibilities:
System Design and Implementation:
• Develop and implement technical solutions based on client requirements.
• Work with cross-functional teams to create high-level and low-level design documentation.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to ensure client environments support proposed solutions. • Lead the implementation of complex IT systems, ensuring adherence to project requirements and timelines.
Client Interaction and Requirements Analysis:
• Interact with clients to gather technical requirements and develop customized solutions to meet their business needs.
• Provide guidance during the solution design phase, ensuring all technical aspects are addressed.
• Present technical solutions to clients, ensuring complex concepts are communicated clearly and effectively.
• Ensure that client systems are scalable, reliable, and meet long-term objectives.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for technical issues and provide efficient solutions.
• Serve as the point of escalation for complex technical problems, ensuring timely resolution.
• Collaborate with internal teams to perform root cause analysis and implement preventive solutions.
Documentation and Reporting:
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for system designs, technical configurations, and implemented solutions.
• Provide regular project updates to clients and internal stakeholders, including status reports on system performance and any issues.
• Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of all work performed.
Customer Support and Training:
• Offer high-level support to clients, addressing technical issues quickly and effectively.
• Conduct training sessions for clients and internal teams on new technologies and solutions.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
Mentorship:
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers, offering guidance and support to ensure team success.
• Take ownership of the technical aspects of projects, ensuring objectives are met effectively and efficiently.
Continuous Learning and Certification:
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
• Pursue relevant certifications and training to enhance expertise and remain competitive in the field.
Qualifications
Education & Required Experience:
• BS degree in Communication & Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; MS degree is a plus.
• From 5-8 years of experience in technical roles
Required Technical Skills:
• Expertise in Microsoft Core Technologies (Implementation & L2 Support):
> Active Directory: Proven experience in designing forest and domain architectures, configuring Sites & Services, and managing complex Group Policy (GPO) structures.
> Microsoft Exchange: Hands-on experience in full deployment of Database Availability Groups (DAG), mail flow management, and hybrid environment transitions.
> Microsoft SQL Server: Strong experience in setting up AlwaysOn Availability Groups, instance hardening, and troubleshooting VSS Writer and connectivity issues.
• Backup & Recovery:
> Proficiency in Commvault, particularly for application-consistent backups and recovery processes.
• Documentation & Delivery:
> Demonstrated ability to follow Low-Level Designs (LLDs) and deliver accurate and comprehensive As-Built documentation for client projects.
Preferred Technical Skills:
• Microsoft Hybrid Administrator certification.
• Commvault Certified Professional credential.
Soft Skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate risks in enterprise projects.
• Strong leadership and mentorship skills to guide and support technical teams.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including stakeholders and executives.
