We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Director to lead the technical delivery of complex, iconic projects for a contracting company based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a senior leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment and has a deep background in main contracting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical function across all projects, ensuring design, engineering, and construction standards are met at the highest level.
- Provide strategic direction for project execution, including buildability, constructability, and value engineering.
- Oversee multidisciplinary teams, including design, engineering, and site management, to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Implement and maintain technical governance, quality assurance, and risk management frameworks.
- Drive innovation and best practice in construction techniques, materials, and project delivery methods.
- Manage relationships with Tier 1 contractors, consultants, and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Lead problem-solving and decision-making for complex technical issues on-site or during design development.
- Mentor and develop senior engineers and managers, shaping the technical capabilities of the team.
What we're looking for:
- Extensive experience in main contracting (75% of your career).
- Proven experience delivering large-scale, complex, and high-profile projects, preferably in Saudi Arabia or the GCC.
- Strong track record working with Tier 1 contractors.
- Deep understanding of project lifecycle, design coordination, technical governance, and construction methodologies.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-moving environments while maintaining technical excellence.
