Job Description

The Senior Technical Engineer will be responsible for managing all technical and engineering aspects of the project, ensuring compliance with design, specifications, authority regulations, and client requirements. The role involves coordinating between the site, consultant, client, and internal departments to ensure smooth execution of all construction activities, particularly for high-rise building projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Technical Coordination

Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings, ensuring coordination between disciplines.

Identify and resolve design conflicts, discrepancies, and constructability issues.

Liaise with consultants, designers, and subcontractors to obtain technical clarifications.

Ensure all designs and drawings are in accordance with DDA / DM / Trakhees requirements.

Prepare RFIs (Request for Information) and ensure timely responses to avoid delays.

2. Authority & Regulatory Compliance

Review and coordinate submissions for authority approvals (DDA, DEWA, DCD, DM, Etisalat, DU, etc.).

Support the NOC Coordination team in obtaining NOCs, permits, and completion certificates.

Ensure materials and systems comply with local authority standards and project specifications.

3. Technical Documentation & Control

Prepare, Review and manage shop drawings, as-built drawings, and method statements.

Ensure proper control of technical submittals such as materials, samples, and mockups.

Coordinate with QA/QC for technical compliance and inspections.

Maintain accurate technical documentation and version control through document control systems.

4. Construction Support

Provide technical guidance to site engineers and foremen during construction.

Review and approve bar bending schedules (BBS), concrete mix designs, and structural details.

Participate in technical meetings with consultants and clients to resolve site issues.

Support in value engineering proposals and alternative material submissions to optimize cost and time.

5. Procurement & Coordination

Review material submittals and ensure compliance with specifications.

Coordinate with the procurement department for material sourcing, supplier evaluation, and approvals.

Support preparation of BOQs, technical comparisons, and cost-saving proposals.

6. Project Planning & Progress

Align technical deliverables with project schedule and milestones.

Monitor design approval timelines to prevent delays in execution.

Assist planning team in developing look-ahead programs for design and shop drawing submissions.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Master's degree preferred).

Minimum 610 years of relevant experience in Dubai high-rise building projects.

Strong knowledge of UAE construction codes, DDA/DM standards, and international building codes.

Proven experience in coordination with consultants and authorities for design approvals.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (preferred), MS Office, Primavera (basic), and BIM tools.

Excellent technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.

Ability to lead technical coordination and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
