IMMEDIATE HIRING

Role Purpose

Own day-to-day engineering execution end-to-end and ensure predictable delivery, strong engineering governance, and high-quality releases across all products and projects. Build a scalable engineering operating system that does not depend on any single individual's availability.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid or on-site based on business needs, with mandatory availability during core working hours and for critical releases and escalations.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Ownership and Execution Excellence

  • Own engineering delivery from planning through production release across all products.
  • Convert requirements into clear technical plans, milestones, sprint goals, and weekly execution targets.
  • Lead daily execution follow-up, remove blockers fast, and enforce accountability.
  • Establish a predictable release cadence and manage cross-team dependencies.
  • Drive structured escalation and decision-making to prevent stalled delivery.

Engineering Governance and Jira Discipline

  • Enforce full transparency and end-to-end work tracking using Jira.
  • Define and mandate standards for ticket readiness, including acceptance criteria and definition of done.
  • Enforce consistent workflows, statuses, ownership, and WIP limits across teams.
  • Produce weekly CEO-ready reporting: progress, delays, root causes, risks, and decisions needed.

Architecture and Technical Leadership

  • Lead system design and architecture decisions for new and existing systems.
  • Ensure scalability, reliability, performance, maintainability, and security of core platforms.
  • Own technical debt management with a structured monthly debt-repayment plan.
  • Standardize API design guidelines, coding standards, and engineering best practices.

Quality Engineering and Release Readiness

  • Build and enforce a quality strategy covering unit, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing where appropriate.
  • Establish mandatory peer code reviews and PR quality gates before merge.
  • Define release readiness checklists and block risky releases.
  • Track and reduce production defects and defect leakage month over month.

DevOps, Reliability, and Environments

  • Ensure CI/CD pipelines are robust and environments are stable across dev, staging, and production.
  • Implement observability standards: logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and dashboards.
  • Lead incident response, postmortems, and continuous reliability improvements.
  • Define and enforce rollback, backup, and disaster recovery procedures.

Security and Secure Engineering

  • Implement secure SDLC practices and OWASP-aligned controls.
  • Govern secrets management, access control, and data protection practices.
  • Ensure compliance-ready engineering practices for sensitive and regulated use cases.

Team Leadership and Capability Building

  • Lead, coach, and develop engineers, senior engineers, and team leads.
  • Set performance standards and run structured technical evaluations.
  • Build a leadership bench and continuous improvement routines.
  • Drive a culture of ownership and execution, not meeting coordination.

  • Required Qualifications and Experience

    • 1418 years of professional software engineering experience with a proven delivery track record.
    • 6+ years in engineering leadership roles leading multiple engineers and teams.
    • Strong system design and architecture expertise for SaaS platforms and scalable backends.
    • Proven experience establishing engineering governance, delivery discipline, and quality systems.
    • Hands-on understanding of CI/CD, release engineering, observability, and incident management.
    • Strong security mindset with experience applying secure engineering practices.

    Preferred

    • Experience in FinTech, HealthTech, or compliance-driven platforms.
    • Experience taking over troubled projects and restoring delivery predictability within 3090 days.
    • Experience optimizing cloud cost and performance.
    • Strong backend engineering in at least one of Node.js, .NET, Java, or Python.
    • API design expertise in REST and event-driven patterns when applicable.
    • Strong database skills including SQL design and performance optimization, plus NoSQL familiarity.
    • Git workflows, branching strategies, and PR governance.
    • Testing frameworks and automation strategy.
    • Cloud experience in AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI.
    • Observability tooling and best practices.

    • Ticket aging by type and team.
    • Percent of tickets with clear acceptance criteria before start.
    • Blocker resolution time.
    • Jira hygiene compliance: updates, ownership, and workflow adherence.

    Monthly

    • Lead time from ticket creation to production release.
    • Defect leakage: defects found in production vs pre-production.
    • Change failure rate: releases causing incidents.
    • MTTR: mean time to recovery.
    • PR quality gate compliance: reviews and checks before merge.
    • Release predictability and cadence stability.
