Role Overview

We are seeking a Technical Manager to lead the technical delivery of a high-profile arena project in Riyadh, working within a client-side / PMC environment.

This role will be responsible for driving design and technical coordination across all disciplines, ensuring that the project meets the highest standards of quality, functionality, and innovation.

You will act as the technical authority on the project, managing design development, overseeing consultants, and ensuring seamless integration between design, construction, and operational requirements.

Project Scope

• Large-scale gaming arena development
• Complex, high-specification entertainment facility
• Multi-disciplinary coordination (structural, architecture, MEP, specialist systems)
• Fast-paced delivery environment with high stakeholder involvement

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Design Management

• Lead and oversee multi-disciplinary design coordination across all project stages
• Act as the technical authority, ensuring design integrity and compliance
• Review and challenge design outputs to ensure alignment with client objectives
• Drive value engineering and technical optimisation

Consultant & Stakeholder Management

• Manage and coordinate design consultants and specialist advisors
• Interface with client stakeholders, operators, and delivery teams
• Lead technical workshops and design review meetings

Project Integration & Delivery

• Ensure seamless integration between design, construction, and operational requirements
• Support project delivery teams in resolving complex technical issues
• Provide technical input during procurement and contractor engagement

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with local authority requirements, codes, and international standards
• Establish and maintain technical governance processes
• Oversee approvals, design gateways, and quality assurance

Risk & Performance Management

• Identify and mitigate technical and design risks
• Monitor design progress against programme and deliverables
• Ensure timely resolution of technical issues to avoid delays

Candidate Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in design management / technical leadership roles
• Strong background in large-scale, complex projects (entertainment, stadiums, mixed-use, hospitality)
• Proven experience in client-side / PMC or major developer environments
• Extensive experience managing multi-disciplinary design teams
• Strong understanding of design delivery, construction processes, and project lifecycle
• Experience working on high-profile or fast-track projects

Desirable Attributes

• Experience in gaming, entertainment, stadium, or complex hospitality projects
• Previous experience working on PIF or giga-projects in KSA
• Strong stakeholder management and leadership capability
• Ability to operate in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
