Job Purpose
The Technical Manager Consultancy is responsible for overseeing technical aspects of consultancy projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, design standards, and client requirements. The role involves managing multidisciplinary teams, reviewing technical deliverables, coordinating with stakeholders, and providing expert technical guidance throughout project lifecycles.
Key Responsibilities Technical Oversight
- Review and approve technical designs, drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Ensure all consultancy deliverables meet applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Provide technical advice and solutions to clients and internal teams.
Project & Consultancy Management
- Manage multiple consultancy projects from concept to completion.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, planners, and external consultants.
- Monitor project timelines, scope, and technical quality.
Client & Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as the main technical point of contact for clients.
- Attend client meetings, technical workshops, and presentations.
- Respond to client queries and provide clear technical explanations.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with local authority regulations and statutory requirements.
- Identify technical risks and propose mitigation measures.
- Support authority submissions, approvals, and technical clarifications.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor technical staff and consultants.
- Review team output and ensure continuous improvement.
- Support recruitment, training, and performance evaluations when required.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and review technical reports, feasibility studies, and due diligence assessments.
- Maintain proper documentation and records for all consultancy projects.
- Provide regular progress and technical status reports to management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 10 - 12 years of relevant experience in consultancy, engineering, or construction.
- Proven experience managing technical teams and consultancy projects.
- Strong knowledge of local regulations, codes, and approval processes.
- Professional certification (PMP, PE, Chartered Engineer, etc.) is an advantage.
