Technical Manager
Location: Egypt (Technical Support Office)
Position Summary
The Technical Manager will manage and coordinate technical and design activities from the Technical Support Office in Egypt, providing technical support to major construction projects across Saudi Arabia.
The role will be responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary design activities, reviewing technical deliverables, supporting constructability and value engineering, resolving technical issues, and ensuring compliance with project requirements, specifications, and applicable Saudi standards.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical and construction experience, with a proven track record in large-scale projects and preferably experience with major contractors or consultants in Saudi Arabia or the GCC.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day technical activities and provide technical support to project teams in Saudi Arabia.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities across Architecture, Structural, MEP, Façade, Interior Design, Landscape, and specialist disciplines.
- Review architectural and technical drawings, shop drawings, technical submittals, material submissions, mock-ups, and construction details.
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve technical issues and design coordination matters.
- Lead technical coordination meetings and support design reviews and technical workshops.
- Review designs for constructability, coordination, compliance, and technical feasibility.
- Support value engineering initiatives to improve cost, functionality, quality, and constructability.
- Coordinate BIM models and support clash detection, model reviews, and digital engineering activities.
- Review and respond to RFIs, technical queries, consultant comments, and design changes.
- Provide technical support during tender, design development, procurement, construction, and close-out stages.
- Ensure technical deliverables comply with the Saudi Building Code, international standards, fire and life safety requirements, accessibility regulations, and project specifications.
- Review and technically evaluate materials, products, specialist subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Coordinate with procurement and commercial teams to ensure technical compliance of proposed materials and subcontractors.
- Identify technical risks and coordinate appropriate solutions with the relevant project stakeholders.
- Monitor technical submissions, approvals, and deliverables to ensure compliance with project schedules.
- Provide technical documentation and support for variations, claims, and contractual matters when required.
- Coordinate with the Riyadh Head Office to ensure alignment with corporate technical standards and project requirements.
- Guide and mentor Technical Engineers, Architectural Engineers, Design Coordinators, and other technical team members.
- Promote consistent technical procedures, standards, and best practices across supported projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in **Architecture, Civil Engineering
Experience
- Minimum 12–15 years of professional construction experience.
- At least 5 years in a Technical Manager, Senior Technical Engineer, Design Manager, or equivalent technical leadership position.
- Proven experience supporting or delivering large-scale construction projects.
- Experience with major international contractors or consultants is highly preferred.
- GCC experience, particularly Saudi Arabia, is strongly preferred.
- Experience in multidisciplinary technical coordination from design through construction.
- Experience with projects involving complex architectural packages, high-end finishes, façade systems, fit-out, hospitality, mixed-use, commercial, residential, or high-rise developments is an advantage.
