Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Technical Department to lead our Injection Molding and Plastic Manufacturing operations. As the technical leader of the department, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all technical aspects of our plastic manufacturing processes, with a focus on injection molding machines. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership skills to drive innovation, optimize processes, and ensure the highest quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
1- Technical Leadership:
a. Provide visionary technical leadership for the Injection Molding and Plastic Manufacturing department.
b. Develop and communicate the technical vision, strategies, and goals for the department.
2- Process Optimization:
a. Analyze and optimize injection molding processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
b. Implement best practices and innovative techniques to drive continuous improvement.
3- Equipment Management:
a. Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and repair of injection molding machines and associated equipment.
b. Manage maintenance teams to ensure machines operate at peak performance.
4- Quality Assurance:
a. Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure products meet strict quality standards.
b. Implement rigorous testing and inspection procedures for molded plastic products & moulds.
5- Technical Innovation:
a. Stay abreast of advancements in injection molding technology and plastic materials.
b. Identify and recommend opportunities for adopting new technologies to improve processes.
6- Team Leadership:
a. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technical professionals, including engineers and technicians.
b. Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture that encourages continuous learning.
7- Collaboration:
a. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, & quality assurance, to drive coordinated efforts.
8- Budget Management:
a. Manage departmental budgets, including equipment investments, maintenance costs, and personnel expenses.
9- Health and Safety:
a. Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations within the department.
10- Reporting and Documentation:
a. Generate reports on departmental performance, technical advancements, and project status.
11- Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
7 years of progressive experience in Injection Molding and Plastic Manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
In-depth knowledge of injection molding processes, equipment, and plastic materials.
Strong experience in process optimization, quality assurance, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Proven track record of successfully managing technical teams and driving results.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Experience with budget management and resource allocation.
Knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations in plastic manufacturing.
