Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to help Software Engineering teams deliver high-quality products and services. In this role, you will act as a servant leader, facilitating Scrum ceremonies, removing obstacles, improving team collaboration, and ensuring efficient use of resources.
You will work closely with development teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement, manage risks, and deliver successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Agile Delivery & Team Facilitation
- Lead and coordinate delivery of engineering and technology initiatives across Agile squads.
- Work closely with Engineering Leads, Product Owners, and the Portfolio team to align priorities, timelines, dependencies, and delivery plans.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies and ensure effective sprint planning, tracking, and delivery.
- Monitor project progress, risks, issues, dependencies, and key milestones, escalating blockers where required.
- Provide clear and timely delivery reporting to Engineering leadership and the Portfolio team.
- Coordinate cross-team dependencies and ensure alignment across technical and business stakeholders.
- Support delivery of regulatory, transformation, and BAU technology priorities.
- Drive continuous improvement in Agile delivery practices and engineering ways of working.
Impediment & Risk Management
- Identify and remove blockers that impact team performance.
- Escalate risks, issues, and dependencies when needed.
- Proactively manage and mitigate delivery risks.
- Facilitate problem-solving sessions to address challenges and improve outcomes.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Owners to manage and prioritize product backlogs.
- Partner with business and technical stakeholders to align on delivery goals.
- Provide clear visibility into team progress, risks, and dependencies.
- Promote effective communication across cross-functional teams.
- Report on team velocity and resource utilization.
Continuous Improvement
- Monitor team performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Ensure retrospective action items are tracked and completed.
- Support the growth of Agile maturity across teams.
- Contribute to scaling Agile practices where applicable.
Reporting & Metrics
- Track Agile metrics such as velocity, burndown, cycle time, and throughput.
- Prepare regular reports and dashboards for stakeholders and leadership.
- Use data and insights to improve team efficiency and delivery predictability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management or a related field.
- 3+ years of Technical Project Manager experience supporting Agile teams.
- Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Experience facilitating cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, facilitation and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar Agile project management tools is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager, Delivery Manager, or similar role within technology/engineering.
- Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Experience managing complex technology initiatives and cross-functional teams.
- Strong stakeholder, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to understand technical concepts and work effectively with engineering teams.
- Strong experience in managing risks, dependencies, delivery plans, and governance.
- Experience in financial services or regulated environments is desirable.
- Relevant Agile/Scrum or project management certification is desirable.
