Job Description Summary

The Technician Nozzle Assembly and Packing is responsible for supporting final assembly operations on gas turbine components, including nozzle seal installation, nozzle and retaining ring installation, and packing activities. In addition to executing process steps safely and accurately, this role is expected to demonstrate strong Lean behaviors, actively support problem solving, maintain 5S standards, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, delivery, and productivity across the line.

Job Description

The technician plays an important role in driving overall Lean implementation by identifying improvement opportunities, supporting standard work, reducing waste, and helping improve process flow and operational performance.

What You'll Do

  • Perform Nozzle hardware Installations in accordance with approved work instructions, process specifications, and engineering requirements.

  • Perform Packing activities in accordance with approved procedures and packaging requirements.

  • Read and interpret work instructions and quality forms to ensure accurate assembly and packing execution.

  • Record and maintain accurate process data as required.

  • Use installation tools, fixtures, packaging materials, and hand tools safely and effectively.

  • Inspect parts before and after assembly and packing processes to ensure conformance to quality requirements.

  • Adhere to Standard Work and Standard Work Combination Sheets to ensure consistency, quality, safety, and efficient line flow.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.

  • Demonstrate strong understanding and application of Lean principles in daily work activities.

  • Actively participate in problem solving, root cause analysis, and corrective action activities to address process or quality issues.

  • Identify and communicate opportunities for continuous improvement in safety, quality, cycle time, flow, and waste reduction.

  • Support improvements in standard work, line organization, visual management, and process discipline to strengthen overall Lean implementation.

  • Contribute to team efforts that improve line performance, operational efficiency, and overall shop productivity.

  • Work within takt time, cycle time, and standard process flow expectations to support production goals.

  • Use shop floor systems and interfaces such as ELM and SmartShop as required.

  • Comply with company quality policies, safety requirements, applicable procedures, and standard work.

What You'll Bring

  • Diploma, technical college degree, or equivalent hands-on experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a technician, manufacturing, assembly, packing, or industrial role.

  • Grinding experience includes cutting, polishing, hole opening

What Will Make You Stand Out

  • Min 2 years experience with mechanical assembly processes.

  • Min 2 years experience with packing and material handling requirements.

  • Participating in problem solving or process improvement activities.

  • Min 2 years experience working with gas turbine components or other precision aerospace/industrial parts.
