Tendering Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Tendering Engineer to join our estimation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing tender documents, preparing comprehensive cost estimates, and coordinating with subcontractors to ensure the submission of competitive and accurate bids for large-scale construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

Tender Analysis: Thoroughly review tender drawings, specifications, and contract terms to understandproject requirements.

Quantity Take-off: Perform accurate quantity take-offs from architectural and structural drawings.

Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and overheads.

Subcontractor Management: Send out inquiries to subcontractors and suppliers, evaluate their quotations, and negotiate pricing.

Technical Proposals: Assist in preparing technical submittals and methodology statements.

Risk Assessment: Identify potential financial or technical risks in tender documents and propose mitigation strategies.

Site Visits: Attend pre-tender meetings and site visits to assess local conditions.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.

Experience: 2 - 5 years of experience in tendering and estimation within the construction industry.

Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project/, and advanced Excel. Experience with estimation software (like Candy or Cost) is a plus.

Analytical Skills: Strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.

Communication: Excellent command of English (written and verbal). Ability to negotiate effectively with vendors.

Knowledge: Deep understanding of FIDIC contracts, market rates, and construction materials.
