Job Description

The Health Club Animator is responsible for delivering engaging, safe, and family-friendly sports and recreational activities that enhance the overall guest experience. The role focuses on creating an energetic yet professional atmosphere suitable for a city hotel environment, encouraging participation from families, children, and individual guests while maintaining the hotel's friendly brand standards.

The Health Club Animator represents the hotel at all times and plays a key role in guest satisfaction, retention, and positive guest feedback.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Guest Experience and Engagement

  • Conduct daily sports and recreational activities for adults, children, and families.
  • Encourage guest participation through friendly interaction and clear communication.
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for all guests.
  • Promote scheduled activities professionally and enthusiastically.
  • Handle guest inquiries and feedback related to activities in a courteous manner.

Sports and Activities Delivery

  • Organize and lead sports activities such as:
    • Pool games
    • Stretching and light fitness sessions
    • Family-friendly group games
    • Indoor or outdoor recreational activities suitable for a city hotel
  • Adapt activities based on guest demographics, occupancy levels, and weather conditions.
  • Assist with special events, holiday programs, and family-focused initiatives.

Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with hotel safety policies.
  • Monitor guest participation to prevent injuries or unsafe behavior.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or equipment issues immediately.
  • Follow UAE health, safety, and municipality regulations at all times.

Teamwork and Operations

  • Coordinate daily schedules with the Recreation Manager.
  • Work closely with Lifeguards, Spa and Food & Drinks teams.
  • Assist with setting up and dismantling activity equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of sports equipment.

Brand and Professional Standards

  • Uphold the hotel's friendly, family-oriented brand tone.
  • Maintain a professional appearance in line with grooming standards.
  • Demonstrate positive body language and approachable behavior.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, reflecting hospitality, warmth, and professionalism.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience as a Sports Animator, or similar role preferred.
  • Experience working with families and children is an advantage.
  • Good communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).
  • Basic knowledge of sports, fitness, or recreational activities.
  • Confident, energetic, and guest-oriented personality.
  • Having Lifeguard license or Fitness Instructor license is an advantage.

Physical and Work Conditions

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to perform light physical activities
  • Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor environments
  • Exposure to poolside and recreational areas
