What Will Your Day Look Like
The Third Party E-commerce Strategy and Partnership Manager is responsible for driving the group's marketplace growth by developing and managing a centralized third-party e-commerce strategy. The role focuses on unlocking group-level scale and preventing brand-by-brand dilution across marketplaces and aggregators.
By centralizing platform strategy, governance, and partnerships, the role ensures:
- Consistent operating models across all brands
- Stronger negotiation leverage with marketplace partners
- Unified standards and governance across platforms
- Structured and scalable growth with key marketplaces including Amazon, Noon, Talabat, Careem, Instashop, and future emerging platforms
This position acts as a strategic scale-enabler, ensuring alignment across brands and maximizing the group's marketplace presence. It focuses on long-term platform partnerships, governance frameworks, and growth strategy rather than day-to-day account management of individual marketplace listings.
How Will You Make an Impact
1. Central Platform & Aggregator Governance
- Own and manage group-level relationships with strategic platforms such as Amazon, Noon, Talabat, Careem, Instashop, and Kibsons.
- Define and implement the governance structure between the Ecommerce Hub and Brand Teams.
- Standardize reporting frameworks and performance definitions across Business Units (BUs).
- Lead group-level Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with key platform partners.
- Escalate and resolve commercial, operational, or compliance issues impacting multiple brands.
2. Channel Strategy & Operating Models
- Define the strategic role of each digital channel (D2C vs Marketplace vs Q-commerce vs E-grocery).
- Develop recommended operating models (direct, distributor-led, hybrid, dark store, etc.).
- Establish clear commercial guardrails including pricing parity, assortment strategy, and trade funding.
- Define ownership and accountability between the Ecommerce Hub and Business Units.
- Align digital revenue targets with the broader group strategy.
3. Platform Playbooks & Best Practices
- Develop standardized playbooks for key platforms, including:
- Amazon Marketplace Playbook.
- Q-commerce Playbook.
- Retail Media Guidelines.
- Content & Listing Standards.
- Define listing standards, retail media investment thresholds, and promotional calendars.
- Drive capability building across brands through training and knowledge sharing.
- Codify learnings from pilot initiatives into scalable frameworks across BUs.
4. Group-Level Joint Business Planning (JBP) Frameworks
- Create standardized Joint Business Planning (JBP) templates for marketplaces and aggregators.
- Align platform commercial calendars (e.g., Ramadan, White Friday, Amazon Prime Day).
- Consolidate group-level investment plans including media, promotions, and visibility initiatives.
- Coordinate group-level negotiations with platform partners to secure better commercial terms.
- Track and monitor execution against agreed JBP commitments.
5. Contract Frameworks & Performance Scorecards
- Define contract guardrails including commission structures, service-level agreements (SLAs), and return policies.
- Develop standardized performance scorecards for all marketplace and aggregator platforms.
- Ensure measurement and reporting alignment across all Business Units.
- Monitor platform compliance with agreed service levels and operational standards.
- Benchmark platform performance against industry standards and market best practices.
6. Partner Pilots & Innovation Programs
- Identify new platform features, beta tools, and innovation opportunities with partners.
- Lead AI-driven retail media pilots and digital innovation initiatives with selected brands.
- Test new fulfillment models, content strategies, and digital merchandising approaches.
- Scale successful pilot programs across Business Units.
- Evaluate emerging marketplaces and digital platforms for potential entry and partnership.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, IT, Business Management or related.
Experience
- 7+ years experience in managing multi brand FMCG E-commerce
- Experience in FMCG or manufacturing environment is mandatory.
Functional Knowledge
- Ecommerce Category Management: Manage online product categories, assortment strategy, pricing alignment, and promotional planning to drive marketplace growth.
- Product Segmentation: Define product segmentation and channel-specific assortment to optimize performance across marketplaces and Q-commerce platforms.
- Ecommerce Team Setup: Establish and structure the ecommerce team, defining roles and capabilities to support platform growth and digital strategy execution.
- Strong Understanding of Ecommerce Platforms: Deep knowledge of marketplace and digital commerce platforms such as Amazon, Noon, Talabat, Careem, and Instashop, including platform operations, performance optimization, digital merchandising, and marketplace growth strategies.
- Joint Business Planning (JBP): Develop and manage joint business plans with key marketplace partners such as Amazon and Noon to drive growth and platform performance.
- Sales Forecast Management: Lead sales forecasting and demand planning to align inventory, promotions, and platform growth targets.
- Campaign Management: Plan and execute digital campaigns, promotions, and marketplace events to maximize visibility and sales performance.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal teams, brand managers, and external platform partners to ensure alignment and effective execution.
- Strategy Development: Develop and implement e-commerce and marketplace strategies to support long-term digital growth.
