Overview

The Tour Guide Recruitment & Allocation Officer is responsible for sourcing, recruiting, and managing a reliable network of professional tour guides. The role focuses on identifying qualified guides from different regions, evaluating their experience and personality through interviews, and assigning them to tours based on operational needs, language requirements, and guide expertise. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of tour guiding operations, preferably with previous experience as a tour guide or in recruiting tour guides.

Key Responsibilities

Tour Guide Recruitment

  • Identify and recruit qualified tour guides from different destinations and regions.
  • Conduct interviews to assess guides experience, language skills, personality, and professionalism.
  • Build and maintain a strong and reliable database of tour guides.

Tour Guide Allocation & Scheduling

  • Assign tour guides to trips based on tour requirements, language, experience, and availability.
  • Coordinate with the operations team to ensure proper guide allocation for upcoming tours.
  • Ensure fair and efficient distribution of tours among guides when possible.

Guide Evaluation & Relationship Management

  • Maintain strong professional relationships with tour guides.
  • Understand each guide's strengths and areas of expertise to match them with the appropriate tours.
  • Collect feedback on guide performance when needed and maintain quality standards.

Database & Records Management

  • Maintain updated records for all guides including languages, experience, destinations covered, and availability.
  • Ensure guide information and documents are properly organized and accessible.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Tour Guide is highly preferred.
  • Experience in recruiting or managing tour guides is a strong advantage.
  • Good knowledge of tourism operations and guiding standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to assess personalities and select the right guide for each tour.
  • Good organizational and coordination skills.
