Overview:
The Trade Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and controlling the operational lifecycle of client and proprietary trades, ensuring accurate trade capture, booking, confirmation, settlement, reconciliations, exception management, and recordkeeping.
The role supports the orderly execution of the Company's broker-dealer activities in compliance with VARA requirements, internal procedures, and the Company's control framework.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee accurate recording of executed trades, allocations, trade economics, counterparties, timestamps, and operational attributes
- Manage the end-to-end post-execution trade workflow from booking to confirmation, settlement, and closure of exceptions
- Coordinate settlement of virtual asset and fiat legs with Trading, Wallet Operations, Finance, and counterparties according to approved instructions
- Perform and review trade, position, cash, wallet movement, and settlement reconciliations, investigating discrepancies promptly
- Maintain logs of failed settlements, unmatched trades, pricing mismatches, operational breaks, and late confirmations, escalating as needed
- Support controlled communication of trade status and settlement updates to clients and counterparties
- Maintain complete records of trade support, confirmations, settlement evidence, reconciliations, and exceptions in an inspection-ready format
- Develop and maintain operational procedures for trade processing, settlement controls, escalation thresholds, and contingency handling
- Escalate unusual, failed, late, or potentially suspicious trade activity to Compliance, Risk, or management as required
- Collaborate with Trading, Sales, Wallet Operations, Technology, Finance, and Compliance to ensure seamless trade processing and issue resolution
- Prepare trade operations dashboards, settlement reports, break reports, and key control metrics for management
- Support business continuity planning, contingency testing, and process resilience improvements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Operations, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in trade support, brokerage operations, exchange operations, settlements, middle office, or post-trade operations
- Experience in broker-dealer, securities, FX, digital assets, or other transaction-intensive financial markets strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of trade lifecycle controls, settlement coordination, reconciliations, and exception management
- Experience with operations systems, reconciliation tools, and control evidence repositories is advantageous
