Global Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund | Dubai (US Trading Hours)

My client is a rapidly growing, global multi-strategy hedge fund with a strong presence across Asia and an expanding international footprint. As part of a strategic build-out, the firm is establishing a Dubai-based trading and technology hub to support increased US trading activity.

They are hiring a Trading Engineer / Trading Support Engineer to sit within the Core Technology function, covering US market hours from Dubai. This is a hybrid role combining front-line trading application support with hands-on engineering, rather than a pure support position.

The Role

This position is critical to the stability and performance of live trading systems during US hours. You will work closely with traders, portfolio managers, and central engineering teams, taking ownership of production issues while also contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of proprietary trading infrastructure.

Working hours are typically late afternoon through early morning Dubai time, aligned with US market coverage. You will not be alone during these hours; traders and other staff will be present in the office.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for trading system issues during US trading hours
• Provide real-time support across proprietary and vendor trading platforms
• Proactively monitor system health, performance, and stability
• Own incident management, escalation, and resolution, including vendor coordination
• Develop, maintain, and enhance internal trading tools and systems
• Work closely with trading, risk, and engineering teams globally
• Take clear ownership of production issues and communicate effectively with stakeholders

Required Experience

• Strong Python and SQL skills
• Experience in trading systems, application support, or backend engineering within a buy-side, sell-side, or trading technology environment
• Comfortable operating in production-critical environments
• Willingness to work US trading hours from Dubai
• Able to operate independently in a fast-moving, newly established office

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting electronic trading platforms (e.g. FlexTrade, Tradeweb, BidFX, Trading Technologies)
• Exposure to vendor management and escalation processes
• Engineering background with an interest in moving beyond pure support
• Familiarity with automation or tooling to improve platform resilience
