Job Overview

As a key front-of-house team member, the Veterinary Receptionist supports smooth clinic operations by delivering friendly, helpful client service and maintaining essential administrative functions. This role is an entry-level opportunity for individuals to develop skills in client care, veterinary communication, and day-to-day practice operations while working under the guidance of the senior reception and management team.

Client Engagement & Service Excellence

  • Greet clients and patients warmly on arrival and departure.
  • Ensure waiting areas remain clean and welcoming.
  • Direct client questions to appropriate team members when required.
  • Provide basic information about clinic services and appointment logistics.

Reception & Operational Support

  • Accurately enter and update client and patient data into the practice management system.
  • Assist in scheduling appointments, follow-up visits, and routine preventative care reminders.
  • Support product and service charging by reviewing invoices before check-out.
  • Restock and tidy reception supplies and display areas as directed.

Team Collaboration

  • Support senior receptionists with administrative and customer care tasks.
  • Observe and learn from experienced team members to build confidence and skills.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
  • Share any operational issues or client feedback with the senior team.

Professional Conduct

  • Maintain punctuality, professionalism, and client confidentiality.
  • Communicate courteously and clearly with clients and colleagues.
  • Take initiative to stay engaged and contribute positively to the clinic's environment.
  • Display willingness to learn and grow within the role.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role or customer-facing.
  • Empathetic, strong clear communicator.
  • Preferably experienced in a animal care facility.
  • Team worker, proactive, problem solver.
