Vice Chancellor - Academics

Gulf Medical University is seeking a distinguished academic leader to serve as Vice Chancellor- Academics, driving academic excellence, innovation, and global engagement across all

colleges and programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all academic functions across the university

Lead the development and implementation of academic strategies, policies, and standards

Ensure excellence in teaching, learning, research, and student outcomes

Oversee curriculum development, program expansion, and academic quality assurance

Drive accreditation processes (CAA and international bodies) and ensure compliance

Promote interdisciplinary education and integration across health professions programs

Strengthen research output, innovation, and global academic collaborations

Lead faculty recruitment, development, and performance management frameworks

Enhance digital transformation in education, including AI, simulation, and e-learning

Represent the university in national and international academic forums and partnerships

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

PhD or equivalent terminal degree in medical speciality

Minimum 1520 years of academic experience, including significant leadership roles (Dean /Provost/Vice Chancellor/equivalent)

Proven experience in academic governance, accreditation, and institutional leadership

Strong track record in research, publications, and academic program development

Experience in international higher education systems and collaborations
