ROLE SUMMARY
The Development Owner – Communities is responsible for leading the end-to-end development lifecycle of community-focused and mixed-use developments within DBU. The role oversees the planning, design, approvals, construction, and delivery of developments to world-class standards, ensuring a balance between customer desirability, commercial performance, and operational sustainability.
ROLE PROFILE
- Lead the visioning, feasibility studies, and master planning of large-scale mixed-use developments, ensuring alignment with market demand and MAF's long-term strategy.
- Oversee the full development lifecycle, from land due diligence and concept development through to project delivery and handover.
- Manage design, engineering, infrastructure, and phasing strategies across residential, retail, hospitality, entertainment, and lifestyle components.
- Develop business cases, financial models, ROI projections, and monitor budgets, costs, and profitability targets to maximize value creation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure seamless project execution, stakeholder alignment, and effective decision-making.
- Secure permits, regulatory approvals, infrastructure coordination, and manage contractor, consultant, and government relationships.
- Drive sustainability, placemaking, digital infrastructure, and customer-centric design principles to create livable and high-performing destinations.
- Lead cross-functional teams and consultants, providing guidance, mentorship, and oversight to deliver successful, commercially viable mixed-use developments.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Real Estate Development, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field; MBA or relevant Master's degree preferred.
- 12-15 years of experience in real estate, community development, or large-scale development projects.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior development, project management, or delivery leadership role.
- Experience with large-scale residential or mixed-use developments; MENA region exposure is an advantage.
- Strong strategic, commercial, and stakeholder management capabilities with the ability to build relationships across diverse groups.
- Detail-oriented, customer-focused, decisive, and resilient professional capable of managing complex projects and delivering results under pressure.
