Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Cloud Migration Architect (VMware Specialist) to lead the strategy, architecture, and execution of large-scale data center and workload migration initiatives. The role requires deep technical expertise in the VMware virtualization stack, with a strong focus on transitioning complex enterprise workloads into modern private cloud environments.
The ideal candidate will combine strong architectural governance with hands-on technical leadership during migration planning and cutover activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead workload discovery and assessment initiatives to evaluate application dependencies, infrastructure readiness, and migration feasibility.
- Develop comprehensive migration strategies, roadmaps, and phased execution plans aligned with business objectives.
- Architect end-to-end migration solutions, defining methodologies, tooling, and transition models.
- Prepare detailed High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation covering migration patterns, target zone infrastructure, and network connectivity.
- Orchestrate migration waves and provide technical leadership during execution and cutover events.
- Establish migration governance standards, frameworks, and best practices for repeatable delivery.
- Collaborate with application, security, networking, and operations teams to ensure seamless and secure transitions with minimal business disruption.
- Design identity and access integration strategies within the target private cloud environment.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues during migration events and drive resolution.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 10+ years of overall IT infrastructure experience.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in large-scale data center design and enterprise workload migration projects.
- Proven track record of leading complex migrations to VMware-based private cloud platforms.
- Strong documentation capabilities with experience creating architecture artifacts, migration runbooks, and technical specifications.
- Experience designing solutions aligned with compliance and security frameworks.
