Key Responsibilities
1. Warehouse & Yard Operations
- Manage all inbound and outbound material movements across stores and yard locations.
- Ensure proper execution of GRN, put-away, material issuing, and dispatch with complete documentation.
- Maintain organized location mapping, stacking plans, and material zoning.
- Implement FIFO/FEFO practices to prevent material deterioration or expiry.
- Ensure production operations are not impacted due to warehouse inefficiencies.
2. Inventory Accuracy & Control
- Maintain real-time alignment between physical stock and ERP records.
- Conduct daily cycle counts and structured monthly stock audits.
- Perform root-cause analysis for stock variances (process gaps, theft, misposting, scrap, etc.).
- Monitor and control slow-moving, obsolete, damaged, and non-conforming inventory.
- Collaborate with Finance on stock valuation, reconciliations, and audit requirements.
3. ERP & Documentation Compliance
- Ensure 100% recording of warehouse transactions in ERP (GRN, MRN, transfers, returns).
- Enforce strict policy: no material movement without system entry and approval.
- Coordinate with Finance to resolve GRN-invoice mismatches and pending documentation.
- Provide full documentation support during internal and external audits.
4. Team Leadership & Operational Discipline
- Lead and supervise storekeepers, forklift operators, crane operators, and helpers.
- Enforce shift discipline, attendance, PPE usage, and safety compliance.
- Assign daily operational tasks and monitor workforce productivity.
- Conduct training on material identification, safe handling, and ERP processes.
- Eliminate informal practices and ensure strict adherence to documented procedures.
5. Health, Safety & Housekeeping
- Maintain strict safety standards for handling heavy materials and fabricated items.
- Ensure proper stacking, lifting, and material movement practices.
- Implement and sustain 5S standards across warehouse and yard areas.
- Work closely with HSE teams to prevent incidents and mitigate risks.
6. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with Production teams to align material issuance with production schedules.
- Coordinate with Procurement on material arrivals and shortage management.
- Work with Transport teams to ensure efficient dispatch planning and return handling.
- Proactively flag risks such as shortages, delays, congestion, or quality issues to management.
