Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-driven Warehouse Supervisor to oversee all warehouse operations in a chemical manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring safe storage, accurate inventory management, and eicient material flow of hazardous and nonhazardous chemicals that support both water-based and oil-based production lines. The Warehouse Supervisor plays a key role in coordinating with production, tank farm, and logistics teams. The role includes responsibility for chemical segregation using a compatibility matrix, warehouse layout management, and quarantine area control for non-conforming materials.

Operational Management:

  • Supervise the receipt, storage, and issuance of raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods in a warehouse handling hazardous chemicals.
  • Ensure proper labelling, segregation, and storage of materials based on chemical
  • compatibility, flammability, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out) practices for material handling.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Enforce strict EHS protocols in line with OSHA, NFPA, and HAZMAT regulations.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE, spill containment, and fire protection systems (e.g., fire sprinklers).
  • Conduct regular safety audits and coordinate with EHS teams for incident prevention and emergency response preparedness.

Inventory & Systems:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP or WMS systems and perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks.
  • Coordinate with procurement, material planner , and quality departments to align raw material availability with production schedules.
  • Generate inventory, discrepancy, and compliance reports for plant leadership.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise warehouse personnel, including material handlers, and forklift operators.
  • Conduct training on chemical handling, forklift safety, and SOPs for warehouse operations.
  • Manage shift schedules, task assignments, and performance evaluations.

Shipping & Receiving:

  • Oversee the loading/unloading of trucks, ensuring proper documentation (e.g., BOLs, SDSs, COAs) and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with logistics partners for timely and compliant shipment of chemicals, including hazardous waste handling if applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Chemistry, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of warehouse experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role in a chemical or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical storage regulations, hazard labeling, and emergency response protocols.
  • Proficient in inventory management systems (SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Oice Suite.
  • Forklift certification and experience with drum/tote handling and chemical transfer equipment.

Preferred Certifications:

  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification
  • First Aid/CPR and Fire Safety Training

Work Conditions:

  • Exposure to chemical substances, fumes, and potentially hazardous environments (with
  • appropriate PPE).
  • Frequent walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and operation of forklifts or pallet jacks.
  • Must be able to respond to o-hours emergencies or inventory issues when needed..
