Job Description

Windows/ VMware L2

Responsibilities

Provide L3 support for all Windows Serverrelated incidents and service requests.

Provide L3 operational support for Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM) infrastructure.

Provide L3 operational support for Microsoft Failover Cluster environments (Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022/2025).

Conduct cluster configuration, patching, upgrades, and capacity planning.

Implement Cluster-Aware Updating (CAU) and maintain system availability during maintenance windows.

Maintain accurate documentation for cluster configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions.

Monitor cluster performance and health using tools like Failover Cluster Manager, PowerShell, SCOM, or SolarWinds.

Perform disaster recovery (DR) testing and contribute to high-availability and business continuity planning.

Work with Storage Teams on shared disk configurations (SAN, CSV, SMB 3.0) and networking teams for cluster communications.

Troubleshoot cluster-related issues (quorum failures, node crashes, heartbeat issues, failover problems, etc.).

Manage and maintain SCCM infrastructure components (site servers, distribution points, management points, SUP, etc.).

Manage and administer VMware environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues VMware infrastructure.

Perform regular maintenance tasks such as patch management and upgrades.

Ensure security and compliance within the virtualized environment.

Collaborate with other IT teams to plan and implement new cloud solutions.

Provide L1 and L2 support for VMware-related incidents and service requests.

Document processes, procedures, and policies for VMware management.

Manage Windows updates for security compliances & troubleshooting.

Handle incident, problem, and change management tasks following ITIL processes.

Manage and maintain Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022,2025) infrastructure in on-premises and hybrid environments.

Support and maintain Windows Failover Services.

Implement and manage PowerShell automation for administrative tasks.

Handle patch management, security hardening, and system performance optimization.

Work with Exchange / O365 / Azure AD integration and synchronization (as applicable).

Lead or assist in root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents.

Collaborate with network, storage, and security teams for cross-functional troubleshooting.

Collaborate with GRC for windows vulnerability & its mitigation.

Collaborate with application team for severity issues.

Document procedures, create knowledge articles, and mentor L1/L2 engineers.

Technical Skills

Deep knowledge of Windows Server OS (20122025).

Experience in clustered SQL Server or File Server configurations.

Solid knowledge of high-availability and disaster recovery principles.

Experience with performance tuning, capacity management, and patch management of clustered systems.

Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.

Hands-on experience with, Failover Clustering, and Storage Spaces.

Experience managing IIS, File Servers, Print Servers, and DFS namespaces.

Understanding of security policies, auditing, and Windows event log analysis.

Exposure to backup/recovery tools (e.g., Veeam, DPM, Commvault).

Knowledge of networking basics (TCP/IP, routing, VLANs, firewalls).

Keen on ITCM process for incidents , change & work orders.

Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter, VMs).

Experience with storage integration (SAN, NAS, iSCSI, NFS).

Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, vSwitches, distributed switches).

Proficiency in Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems administration within virtual machines.
